🐾 Daisy’s Legacy September Newsletter: Help Us Keep Saying YES

🐾 Daisy’s Legacy Newsletter: We Need Your Help

The past few months have been especially challenging for animal rescue. Adoptions have slowed, dogs are staying in our care longer, and the cost of helping each dog continues to add up.

Every additional week in rescue means more food, veterinary care, medications, preventatives, transportation, supplies, training, and sometimes boarding.

But dogs in shelters and difficult situations don’t stop needing help just because rescue gets harder.

We want to keep saying YES — and right now, we need donations to do it.

Your gift helps us cover veterinary care and surgeries, food and supplements, medications, transportation, training, emergency boarding, supplies, and all the unexpected expenses that come with giving a dog a second chance.

$10 helps. $25 helps. $50 helps. Every donation matters.

🚨 URGENT: Help Us Find Solace a Long-Term Foster or Adopter

Solace urgently needs either a committed long-term foster or an experienced adopter. His current fosters will be traveling and can no longer keep him, so we need our community’s help finding the right person.

Solace is a handsome 4-year-old English Cocker Spaniel. He can be reactive toward strangers and other dogs, so he needs someone experienced with reactive dogs who understands that building trust takes patience and consistency.

Once Solace bonds with you, he is incredibly sweet, affectionate and loyal. He loves cuddling, sitting in your lap, running, playing and chasing balls. 💛

🐾 Solace Needs:

  • An experienced adopter or committed long-term foster
  • Experience with reactive dogs
  • No children
  • No other pets
  • A quiet home with few visitors
  • A securely fenced yard
  • Someone patient and committed to helping him succeed

Solace is house-trained, neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations, and he has had his cherry eyes repaired.

Please Help Us Find His Person

Even if Solace isn’t right for your home, you may know someone who is perfect for him.

Please share him on Facebook, Instagram, Nextdoor, neighborhood groups, and especially with friends and family who have experience with reactive dogs.

Sometimes we don’t need thousands of people to see a dog. We just need the right person to see him.

🚗 Help Put Daisy’s Legacy on the Road

Every Rescue Journey Starts With a Ride

Transportation is part of almost everything we do — getting dogs out of shelters, traveling to veterinary appointments and surgeries, reaching foster and adoptive homes, and delivering food and supplies.

Right now, we depend on volunteers and personal vehicles.

Our goal is to raise $15,000 for the Daisy’s Legacy Puppy Car — a safe, reliable vehicle dedicated to transporting animals, supplies, and everything needed to carry out our work.

Donations will help us purchase and prepare a reliable used vehicle, including registration, insurance, maintenance, safe crates and restraints, protective equipment, transport supplies, and Daisy’s Legacy signage.

$10 helps with fuel.
$25 helps with transport supplies.
$50 helps support a dog’s safe journey.
$100 helps equip the Puppy Car.
$500+ makes a major impact toward getting us on the road.

🥩 Invest in Your Dog’s Health

At Daisy’s Legacy, we believe in rescuing the whole dog — physically, emotionally and spiritually. We also want to help pet parents make thoughtful choices that support their dogs for years to come.

Nutrition is an important part of that.

Kibble is convenient and quality varies considerably between brands. We encourage families to look beyond the marketing on the bag and consider ingredients, nutritional quality, processing, and their individual dog’s needs.

When appropriate, families may want to explore fresh, gently cooked, human-grade and whole-food-based nutrition as part of their dog’s diet.

Quality nutrition is an investment in your dog’s health.

We also recommend carefully vetted holistic products to our adopters, fosters and supporters, including options for nutrition, supplements, natural wellness, and flea and tick protection. Our Trusted Products page includes Raised Right, PawTree, Evermore Pet Food, Adored Beast Apothecary, Woof Creek Pet Wellness, Real Mushrooms and other options. Some purchases through Daisy’s Legacy links also support our nonprofit mission.
