Thank you for being part of this journey. Since our last update, 69 dogs have entered Daisy’s Legacy’s care—including 64 rescued from overcrowded shelters, 4 owner surrenders.
Every dog in our care receives:

🇧🇬 Bulgaria Stray Dogs Fund
Daisy’s Legacy is currently in Bulgaria helping stray dogs who have nowhere else to turn.
Bulgaria does not euthanize healthy dogs simply because shelters are full, but many dogs spend their entire lives in overcrowded shelters with limited food, medical care, and resources. Others survive on the streets with little to no help.
Now through July 20, we are raising $5,000 to help stray dogs in Bulgaria.
Your donation will help us:
- Buy and deliver food
- Pay emergency medical bills
- Support feeding and rescue efforts
100% of donations designated for this campaign will go directly toward food, veterinary care, and rescue efforts for stray dogs in Bulgaria.

🐄 Expanding Our Mission: Farm Animal Welfare
This year, Daisy’s Legacy launched a new Farm Animal Welfare & Policy Initiative, expanding our mission to protect not only companion animals but also the millions of farm animals who receive little public attention and limited legal protection.
Through advocacy, education, research, and policy, we’re working to improve welfare standards and support practical, evidence-based solutions that reduce animal suffering on a larger scale.
By combining rescue with advocacy and policy, we’re creating lasting change for animals—one life and one system at a time.
⚖️ Daisy’s Law Update
Daisy’s Legacy is working to create stronger legal protections for companion animals through Daisy’s Law – Companion Animal Family Member Act.
Inspired by Daisy’s story and the many animals we’ve rescued, this proposed legislation would recognize dogs and cats as sentient beings with protected welfare interests, strengthen breeder accountability, improve animal welfare standards, and help prevent abuse, neglect, and preventable harm.
