As we close out the year and step into 2026, we want to reflect on what you made possible — and why your continued support matters now more than ever.
At Daisy’s Legacy, every rescue, every voice raised, and every family helped is rooted in one simple truth:
Pets are family — not property.
Thanks to our supporters, fosters, adopters, donors, and advocates, this year was one of impact, growth, and meaningful change.
🐾 154 Dogs Rescued This Year
This year alone, 154 dogs were rescued through Daisy’s Legacy.
Each number represents a life saved — dogs pulled from shelters, unsafe situations, and uncertain futures, now surrounded by love and care.

From tiny puppies to senior dogs, each rescue required medical care, supplies, transportation, foster homes, and unwavering commitment. Your support made every one of these rescues possible.
Every dog rescued through Daisy’s Legacy receives age-appropriate vaccinations and is spayed or neutered (or scheduled for surgery when medically appropriate). This commitment helps reduce overpopulation, protects animal health, and ensures every dog starts their new life on the best possible footing.
Responsible rescue is not optional — it’s a core part of our mission.
🏛️ Advocacy, Leadership & Policy Conversations
Rescue is only part of the work.
This year, Daisy’s Legacy advocated on Capitol Hill and across the country, raising our voices for stronger animal protections and meaningful reform. We continue to push for laws and policies that reflect what so many already know:
Pets are family — not property.
Other states and countries have already taken steps toward recognizing animals’ true value — and we are committed to helping bring that change here.
Advocacy is not just about being present — it’s about being heard.
As part of our continued policy and advocacy efforts, Daisy’s Legacy participated in high-level conversations with elected officials and policymakers, including meetings with Senator Mark Warner, Senator Barbara A. Favola, Representative Claudia Tenney, and many others.
These conversations focused on animal welfare reform, access to care, and advancing the message that pets deserve legal and social recognition as family members — not property.

🌟 Trailblazer in Animal Welfare Honoree
This year, our founder was honored as a Trailblazer in Animal Welfare Honoree by Humane World for Animals, recognizing unsung leaders who are breaking barriers and advancing a more equitable and inclusive animal protection movement.
The Trailblazer Award highlights animal welfare professionals and volunteers who serve historically marginalized and underserved communities, expand access to animal care, and increase representation across the movement. This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to advocacy, inclusion, and systemic change in animal welfare.

🤍 Supporting Veterans, Shelters & Families in Need
Keeping pets with the people who love them is central to our mission.
This year, Daisy’s Legacy provided free supplies and essential resources to:
- Veterans and their pets
- Partner shelters
- Low-income families facing financial hardship
Removing financial barriers can be the difference between surrender and stability — and we are proud to help families stay together.
🌟 National Recognition: Bring Love Home Challenge
In December, Daisy’s Legacy was selected to participate in the national Bring Love Home Challenge, led by Best Friends Animal Society, a nationwide initiative aimed at increasing lifesaving adoptions and fostering during one of the most critical times of the year.
This national recognition reflects our commitment to accessibility, innovation, and putting animals first.

🎉 Looking Ahead to 2026
As we enter the new year, our mission remains clear:
- Rescue dogs in need
- Advocate for animals as family, not property
- Support people so pets can stay home
The need doesn’t stop on December 31 — and neither do we.
