🐾 Shorty’s Happily Ever After… and What Rescue Really Looks Like ❤️
We all love happy adoption updates… but some dogs remind us that rescue isn’t about the easy ones.
Everyone wants the “perfect” dog — house-trained, calm, socialized. And many new fosters hope for the same.
But fostering isn’t entertainment or a trial run. Most rescue dogs arrive scared, untrained, smelly, anxious, or snapping out of fear.
That’s the whole point of fostering — YOU help them heal.
Shorty is the perfect example. 💔➡️❤️
He came to us terrified and shut down. Most people would have walked away, but his foster family didn’t. They saw a dog worth saving.
Then it got harder — Shorty panicked, got loose, and survived several days alone in the woods. Thanks to Sarah Faisal, who never stopped searching, he was safely trapped and brought home.
His foster family gave him patience, structure, love, and space. Even the kids learned how to respect his boundaries. Two months later, he still doesn’t let strangers touch him — and that’s okay. Healing takes time.
But something beautiful happened: they fell in love. And now…

Without Daisy’s Legacy — and without this amazing family — Shorty would have been euthanized. Their commitment truly saved his life.

Many of the dogs we rescue come to us with serious medical needs — from major surgeries to chronic conditions to urgent, life-saving care. Every single week, we take in animals who need immediate treatment just to live without pain and finally have a real chance at a happy future.
Your support is what allows us to keep saying yes when shelters call with dogs who have nowhere else to go.
Every dollar helps provide lifesaving veterinary care, transportation, supplies, and essential resources for the dogs who need us most.
